What are the the different parts of a quilt?

Quilt top - it is the outer layer of the quilt, and is mad up of small pieces pieced together. These small parts contain the design of the quilt  and most visual interests.

Batting - the middle layer of the quilt; it is usually designed from cotton blend, cotton or polyester. It role is to add thickness and an extra layer of insulation. Quilt thickness depends on your need.

Backing - it is the bottom layer of a quilt, and it should coordinate with the top quilt.
